Smart Currency Exchange can help ensure a speedy property purchase

Thanks in part to Smart Currency Exchange’s fast, efficient currency transfer service, Larry and Lynne Edhouse, from Northants, were able to wrap up their Spanish property purchase in less than a month – and were handed the keys for their villa on the sunny Costa Blanca just in time for the festive season on 22nd December 2015.

Soon after selling their home in Daventry, the Edhouses used Smart Currency Exchange to purchase euros at a competitive exchange rate with the proceeds, and then send these funds on to Spain to start their new life in the Spanish sunshine.

“Our estate agent in the Costa Blanca was brilliant; they not only helped us open a local Spanish bank account, but also referred us to Smart Currency Exchange, who couldn’t have been better. We arrived in the Costa Blanca on 25th November, and never imagined we’d have found somewhere and managed to have everything in place to complete the purchase by Christmas!”

The Edhouses paid €164,000 (excluding fees and taxes) for their new home, a three-year-old villa in the community of Vistabella, between Orihuela and Torrevieja. It consists of two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large front terrace and a landscaped garden that had been well-maintained by the previous owner. The property came largely furnished, including white goods in the kitchen.

“We’re still getting settled here but are also really looking forward to having people to stay, especially our six grandchildren,” added Lynne. “And it will be easy enough to pop back to the UK and see family, as we can stay with our son.” The Edhouses have the choice of two airports for journeys to and from the UK, namely Alicante and Murcia’s San Javier.

All in all, 2016 should be a life-changing year in their new home in Spain for Larry and Lynne, thanks to their proactive estage agent and Smart Currency Exchange helping them to complete their property purchase quickly and safely and saving them money at a very handy time of year.

With currency markets currently fluctuating dramatically in response to global economic events, it’s even more important to keep an eye on the exchange rate movements and plan these into your overseas purchase.
